Started in 2007, the Auto Appraisers of Oregon successfully lobbied the legislature for a law that prohibited the appraisals of vehicles for compensation unless the person has an appaisers license.
Since then, DMV Business regulation office has published rules concerning how a person will qualify to be licnesed as an appaiser, either for custom cars or for abandoned vehicles.
The association has plans at some point to further modify the law to create a ‘master appraiser’ catagory of custom car appriaser. The designation would continue to be by the associatoin, after approval of the AA of O Board of Directors, afer an interview process to acertain the skills and experience of the candidate for ‘master appraiser.
The AA of O’s next Board of Director’s meeting will be at the Antique Powerland October 23rd at 9 am. The meeting will be held in the ‘Texaco’ station. The officers of the Association are:
